Me and my sister were born in September 2005 on a private game reserve near Thabazimbi. We were very lucky we grew up healthy and both reached maturity at two years, at which point we both went our own way because cheetah females are solitary by nature.
The cheetah population inside the reserve was very successful and relatively large litters were born regularly with the cub survival rate being surprisingly high. While that is indeed a very good thing, unfortunately the population got to big and there were too many cheetahs for the size of the reserve and available prey numbers declined to quickly. The owner then decided to capture a number of us to be sent to various reserves and breeding programs in the country. I arrived at the Daniell Cheetah Breeding Farm in November 2009, where I will make a valuable contribution to the Breeding program.
